Does Honey Really Lighten The Eyes? UPDATE + EXPLANTION

Everyone is still questioning whether or not honey lighten the eyes. "If it does- wouldn't you think everyone would be doing it?" I get asked that question a lot- and truth is, if everyone is as skeptic as the people questioning, only few will actually do it. Some aren't even persistent when they are doing it and they get upset and automatically claim it does not work. Some use the wrong kind of honey which is the reason why it doesn't work. That is why I am making a new and updated post about "Honey Lightening The Eyes".

More Than 75% Of Store Bought Honey Is FAKE: yes, you read it correctly. So many people put processed honey into their eyes thinking it will lighten their eyes but actually damages it. You need to buy RAW, AUTHENTIC honey!! I keep stressing this over and over, raw honey only! Go to your local organic store, go to a farmer's market, or buy it from a legit online source. If you do not believe me when I say store bought honey is fake, here's some reliable sources: click here to read more , Or Here , Here's how you can spot fake honey )

Now, on to the scientific explanation of all of this: your iris actually is made up of melanin, just like your skin. Normally, people with dark skin tones (dark skin African Americans, dark Indian, etc.) produce more emumelanin than pheomelanin, creating darker skin, darker hair, and dark eye color. People with lighter skin tones have more pheomelanin than emumelanin, which makes their hair, skin, and eyes lighter. Now there's some people who are dark skinned and have blue eyes and blonde hair- which is called a genetic mutation.

Let's get right to it, how exactly does (raw) honey lighten the eyes? Here's the answer: C6H12O6 (honey) + H2O (water) + O2 (oxygen) → C6H12O7 (gluconic acid) +H202 (hydrogen peroxide)

when honey is mixed with water AND oxygen it produces hydrogen peroxide so when you open your eyes right after putting in the drops, it helps lighten them faster by speeding up the reaction.

I know what you're probably thinking, putting hydrogen peroxide into your eyes horrible- BUT the raw honey mixed with water and oxygen CONVERTS into hydrogen peroxide once it interacts with the iris. It is way safer than putting chemicals into your eyes (eye drops for allergies and etc.). Although, for safety insurance let me explain why hydrogen peroxide is safe. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is the only germicidal agent composed only of water and oxygen. Like ozone, it kills disease organisms by oxidation! For this reason, Hydrogen peroxide is considered the world’s safest all natural effective sanitizer.
Hydrogen peroxide kills microorganisms by oxidizing them, which can be best described as a controlled burning process. When Hydrogen peroxide reacts with organic material it breaks down into oxygen and water, meaning it is non-toxic for general use.( Resource: http://wakeup-world.com/2012/07/09/27-amazing-benefits-and-uses-for-hydrogen-peroxide/)
So basically, washing your body with raw honey and water is the same as putting into your eyes since they are both made up of melanin. DO NOT PUT HYDROGEN PEROXIDE into your eyes, RAW HONEY only. Remember raw honey converts into hydrogen peroxide once it is in contact with the iris and it is not as strong as the actual hydrogen peroxide we buy at a store. Remember to do half and half of boiled water (make sure it is sterilized or 'clean' water) and raw honey into an eye drop bottle. 1-2 drops only. Let the hot water cool down before you apply it into your eyes. Shake the bottle before each use, also. This isn't a quick fix, it's your melanin for goodness sakes, you must give it 2-6 months and also wear shades (you are lightening your iris which mean it can be sensitive to light and can darken again way faster than it can lighten)

I hope this clears up things! Before you deny it- try it!

Dudu Osun Soap Review

4.5 Out of 5 Rating

This wildly known soap has made its way into my house- finally. I ordered this African Black Soap from Sunaroma.com. This soap is originally made in Nigeria, now there are other soaps like Ghana Black Soap that has some what the same ingredients. Ingredients: pure honey, aloe Vera, Shea butter, lime juice, osun, Palmkernal oil, cocoa pod ash, Palm bunch ash, water &fragrance.

*Remember: just because you see fragrance doesn’t mean it is a toxic chemical. American ingredients like ‘fragrance’ are completely different from how it is in Nigeria. This soap is all natural*

If you want beautiful, and youthful skin- Dudu Osun is your go to soap. I love this soap, it lathers so well and makes my skin feels really clean.

How I wash with this soap: To get all the benefits possible I exfoliated with an exfoliating glove twice a week before I lather myself with the soap. I wait for three to five minutes and wash the suds away.

Benefits I got with this soap: my skin tone was so uneven everyone kept asking me what will I do about my ‘tan’. Sadly, I didn’t know and just had to deal with have different shades of colors all over my body. Thanks to this soap my complexion is evening out and I’m starting to become one color. Also my acne and blemishes are really starting to clear up. Last but not least my face GLOWS like crazy.

Why I didn’t give it a five rating? If this soap zapped all my acne away, even my skin tone completely , and made my blemishes go away completely too- I would give it a 5. It is working but not working miraculouslyHonestly I think with putting Shea butter on your skin afterwards  it speeds up the results.

The smell? I know a lot of people complain about the smell but you have to understand one of the ingredients is ASH. So of course it’s going to smell a little smokey/woodsy. It’s not overpowering and neither is it a beautiful smell.
Any tips? Please do not leave this soap in the shower /tub when you are through. It will melt and the color of the soap (brown) will stain your tub (it can be washed off). Put it in a zip loc bag or a soap holder container .
